A hardy little pony grazing on Standpit Marsh . Looks like a forest pony actually...on holiday by the sea?
Cattle are also grazed here and the grazing is managed to maintain the marshes for the wildlife and wild plants.

A flock of Brent Geese grazing on Standpit Marsh. Mudeford Quay in Background.
These Geese are overwintering and will soon fly back North to rear their families somewhere nice and cool in the summer. Posted by Picasa

The starlings at Mudeford Quay earn their living begging and stealing food from the visitors at the cafe, and picking over the lobster pots and fishing nets for fishy scraps. They hang out round the lobster pot stacks preening and sun bathing and singing very loudly. They are very tame, and when you get up close you can see they are actually very colourful.
